We started ZAINI with one belief: that what goes on your skin should be as clean and honest as what goes in your body.

ZAINI began in 2018 in a Brooklyn apartment kitchen. Founder Maya Chen, frustrated by commercial soaps that dried out her sensitive skin, began experimenting with cold-process soap making, sourcing natural butters and oils from small farms around the world.

What started as a personal experiment became gifts for friends, then a farmers' market stall, then an online shop that sold out in 48 hours. The response was overwhelming: people were desperately looking for soap they could trust.

Today, ZAINI is crafted in our purpose-built studio in upstate New York, by a small team of people who share Maya's obsession with quality, transparency, and the belief that beauty should be simple and honest.
